Studies Show Real Health Benefits

Tai chi has been used for centuries, and it’s meditative, calming properties are only part of its appeal. In a study, of tai chi practitioners in their 60s with serious knee osteoarthritis performed tai chi ball or traditional tai chi for an hour 2 times a week for twelve weeks, while a similar group did an identical quantity of typical stretching exercises over the same period. The People who did tai chi experienced better pain reduction, less depression and enhancements in physical function and overall health. The study is an important book mark on arthritis study as the participants who took part in the study had knee osteoarthritis for approximately ten years. What this means is that chronic arthritis or advanced arthritis with cartilage that has been worn down, can find relief, and repair some damage.

This study was controlled by Dr. Chenchen Wang of Tufts Medical Center in Boston reported at a meeting of the Yank School of Rheumatology in San Francisco, who stated “Tai chi mind-body exercise seems to supply a vital approach for self-care and self-management for knee (osteoarthritis),” The study provided the most recent proof that tai chi in all its many forms (tai chi ball, tai chi ruler) may offer advantages for many individuals with arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation advocacy group advocates it for improving the standard of life of folk with arthritis.
